The outside linebacker adds another accolade.

Denver Broncos' second-year linebacker Von Miller has had a sensational sophomore season. Now, with the end of the year in sight Miller has broken the Broncos franchise record for sacks in a a season.

Elvis Dumervil last broke the mark in 2009, when his 17 sacks ended Simon Fletcher's record -- a mark that had stood since 1992. On Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, Von Miller had registered 1.5 sacks at the close of the third quarter, giving him 17.5 on the season, and besting his teammate's record.

Von Miller has done a little bit of everything in his second year. Registering 63 tackles, 17.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, and 1 interception -- the outside linebacker is ensuring he remains in the conversation for defensive player of the year. Miller's competition for the award is Houston Texans' defensive end J.J. Watt, and Alson Smith of the San Francisco 49ers. Both Watt and Smith are trying to close in on Michael Strahan's NFL sack record.
