49ers vs. Seahawks score: Blocked kick gives Seattle 21-0 lead

Otto Greule Jr

With the NFC West title up for grabs, the Seahawks made an early statement.

The San Francisco 49ers did not come out strong against the Seahawks on Sunday night, and now they have to dig out of a big hole. Playing in front of a raucous crowd in Seattle, the Seahawks lead 21-0 early in the second quarter.

Marshawn Lynch has been the star so far. The veteran tailback rushed into the end zone on Seattle's first drive from 24 yards out, giving his team an early 7-0 lead. After forcing another stop, Russell Wilson led the Seahawks down the field yet again, this time capping off a drive with a nine-yard touchdown strike to Lynch.

The 49ers have struggled to get much going on offense. Kaepernick is just 4-for-9 for 41 yards and has been affected by the noise level from the Seahawks faithful. Frank Gore has five carries for only 10 yards.

The biggest blow of the game came on a 49ers field goal attempt. The Seahawks blocked the chip-shot, then Richard Sherman returned it 90 yards to the end zone to give Seattle a commanding 21-0 lead.
