SB Nation's Jacksonville Jaguars blog, Big Cat Country, reacts to the team's inability to come away with the upset against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
The Jacksonville Jaguars entered Sunday's game against the New England Patriots as the biggest underdog of the week and the team nearly came away with the upset. And despite leading 13-3, the Jaguars couldn't overcome a pair of interceptions late in the game and lost 23-16.
One of the interceptions occurred on the final play of the game where Chad Henne was picked off, ending the game and giving the Patriots the victory. The Jaguars were on the Patriots' 12-yard line.
Despite playing one of the elite teams in the league extremely tough, the Jaguars may have came out even bigger losers, as noted by Adam Stites of SB Nation's Jacksonville Jaguars blog, Big Cat Country. With no playoff implications at stake for the Jaguars, the team lost a few of their key players for the future.
The most unfortunate aspect of the game were injuries to significant players on the Jaguars that seemingly have futures with the team. Uche Nwaneri, Paul Posluszny and Cecil Shorts III all suffered injuries that ended their days early.
The Jaguars will now prepare to face the Tennessee Titans on the road for the last game of the regular season as the two teams look to close the season with a win.
