The lackluster play of the New England Patriots the last two weeks has fans a little concerned about the team as they head into the postseason.
Heading into Week 16's contest between the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars, most people figured the mighty Patriots would steamroll the lowly Jaguars. However, that did not turn out to be the case, as the Patriots fell behind 13-3 early before rallying for a 23-16 victory.
The normally dominant Patriots offense was a bit off kilter with Tom Brady throwing two interceptions and finishing with a mediocre quarterback rating of 73.9. On defense, New England gave up 436 yards to a Jacksonville offense that has struggled most of the season.
While the Patriots did pull out the win and still have a shot at the No. 1 seed in the AFC, the uninspiring victory has Greg Knopping at SB Nation's Patriots blog Pats Pulpit a little worried about the team heading into the postseason:
So the Patriots get the ugly win against the bad team, which at the end of the day, you'll have to take. But just a week from the playoffs, you can't help but feel a lot less comfortable with this team than you did two weeks ago.
After a string of mostly dominant performances, New England has played lackluster football the past couple of weeks. Usually teams like to be playing their best ball heading into the postseason, and right now, the Patriots are not playing close to their best.
New England will look to gain some momentum heading into the playoffs when they host the Miami Dolphins in Week 17.
