Ray Lewis is eligible to return to game action but will not play in the Baltimore Ravens final game of the regular season.

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis is eligible to return to game action but will not play in Week 17 against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to head coach John Harbaugh on Wednesday afternoon.

Lewis has been attempting to return to action since tearing his triceps against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6. The 37-year-old linebacker was placed on the injured reserve list with a designation to return and was able to participate in practice starting on Dec. 5. However, he has not played in a game since sustaining the injury.

With initial reports stating that he could potentially play as early as Week 15 against the Denver Broncos, it now appears that if Lewis does return this year it will come during the postseason.

The Ravens will enter the final week of the regular season with the AFC North division title already clinched.

Sunday's game against the Bengals is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., ET and will be broadcast on CBS.
