US PRESSWIRE

The Denver Broncos won for the seventh straight time on Sunday.

The Denver Broncos kept rolling on Sunday with a 31-23 home win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, extending the AFC West lead with a 9-3 record on the season. The victory was the seventh-straight win for the Broncos after opening the season 2-3, as Denver has become of the more complete teams in the NFL with Peyton Manning under center.

The Broncos dominated the Buccaneers in the second half in a game that wasn't nearly as close as the final score would suggest, scoring on defense as well as using strong special teams to give Manning and the offense a short field with which to work. Trailing 10-7 at the half, Denver outscored Tampa Bay 24-3 until the Bucs scored 10 points in garbage time at the end of the game.

KaptainKirk of Mile High Report praised the completely performance of the Broncos in the game, including the strong play of returner Trindon Holliday:

Another player I am going to continue promoting, is Trindon Holliday, who is largely responsible for the Broncos' excellent starting positions. Is there anybody out there who misses Eddie Royal? I didn't think so. Eddie is a good dude, but the Broncos got Jambalaya in the diminutive speedster from LSU. Holliday returned 4 punts today for 95 yards, a whopping 23.8 yard average. Trindon nearly broke free for a score in the 3rd Quarter, returning a punt 45 yards to the Tampa Bay 40 yard line. The Broncos could have blown the contest wide open if not for Manning throwing an Interception to Lavonte David on the next play. The Broncos Defense held the Bucs to a Field Goal off that Turnover and they held on for the win.

The Broncos will face Oakland on Thursday Night Football, taking on the Raiders for the second time the season after a 37-6 win on Sept. 30.
