After benching Mark Sanchez in favor of Greg McElroy on Sunday, Rex Ryan says that all three New York Jets quarterbacks, including Tim Tebow, are in the conversation to start on Sunday against Jacksonville.
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said on Monday that the team's starting quarterback for Week 14 has not been decided yet, but that Tim Tebow is in the discussion to receive the call. Ryan said he expects to make a decision by Wednesday's practice.
"I'm comfortable and confident in all three QBs... I'll make that decision as the week goes on," Ryan said according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
The Jets' season-long quarterback controversy was reopened on Sunday when Ryan benched starter Mark Sanchez down the stretch in favor of Greg McElroy. The second-year pro out of Alabama completed five of his seven passing attempts for 29 yards and the game's only touchdown, as the Jets topped the Cardinals, 7-6.
Sanchez completed 10 of 21 passes, throwing for 97 yards and three interceptions before being removed from the game. Tebow was not available to replace Sanchez because he was on the Jets' inactive list for the game with an injury.
The Jets (5-7) go on the road this weekend to face the Jacksonville Jaguars 1 p.m. Sunday.
