Robert Griffin III connected with Pierre Garcon in the fourth quarter for the go-ahead touchdown.
Pierre Garcon caught eight passes for 106 yards and a touchdown to lead the Washington Redskins over the New York Giants, 17-16, on Monday.
Washington took its first lead of the second half when Robert Griffin III connected with Garcon on an 8-yard touchdown pass to put Washington ahead, 17-16, with 11:37 left in the fourth quarter. The Redskins' defense held the lead for the rest of the game as Washington improved to 6-6 on the season.
The Redskins scored their first points of the game when Griffin scrambled on a quarterback option and fumbled the ball right into the arms of Joshua Morgan.
Morgan then rushed 15 yards into the end zone to put the Redskins ahead, 7-3, with 4:16 remaining in the first quarter.
The Giants led 16-10 heading into the fourth quarter after Lawrence Tynes' third field goal of the game, this one from 35 yards out.
Griffin finished the game 13-of-21 passing for 163 yards and one touchdown while rushing five times for 75 yards.
The loss dropped the Giants to 7-5 on the season.
Fantasy studs and duds
Pierre Garcon had eight receptions for 106 yards and one touchdown for the Redskins. Alfred Morris had 22 carries for 124 yards for Washington.
Victor Cruz led the Giants with five receptions for 104 yards. New York running back Ahmad Bradshaw had 24 carries for 103 yards.
