Ravens fullback Vonta Leach went to the locker room with a leg injury early in the first quarter against the Bengals.
The Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals have secured their spots in the postseason, and are trying to avoid any serious injuries in their Week 17 finale. The Ravens, however, may have sustained a significant blow early in the first quarter in Cincinnati as fullback Vonta Leach took a helmet to the leg and hobbled off the field to the locker room. It initially appeared to be an ankle injury but the team has not confirmed the specifics yet. Reserve tight end Billy Bajema replaced Leach at the fullback position.
Leach is considered one of the best blocking fullbacks in the NFL. The veteran consistently opens up holes for one of the league's best, Ray Rice. Losing Leach for next week's round of Wild Card games would be a big blow to an offense that's experienced plenty of tumult over the past month.
Baltimore captured the AFC North title last week and is currently slotted as the No. 4 seed. A win over the Bengals and a loss by the Patriots would bump them up a spot to No. 3.
