In addition to the removal of Ken Whisenhunt, the Cardinals have fired their offensive staff.
The Arizona Cardinals are cleaning house, firing their offensive coaching staff shortly after announcing the removal of head coach Ken Whisenhunt and GM Rod Graves. The organization's Twitter account released a full list of the fired coaches, which includes Russ Grimm, Frank Reich, Tommie Robinson, John McNulty, Mike Miller, and Chad Grimm. Arizona has not updated the status of tight ends coach Freddie Kitchens, who appears safe for the moment.
The Cardinals wrapped up an ugly 5-11 season on Sunday, losing 11 of their last 12 games after a promising September start. It was particularly woeful on the offensive side of the ball, where the team ranked dead last in the league in rushing yards and 28th overall in passing yards. The failure to find a suitable option at quarterback added to the misery.
The status of Arizona's defensive staff has not changed, and there were reports that defensive coordinator Ray Horton might be considered for the head coaching job with the Browns.
