Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is expected to miss the next three games and possibly the remainder of the regular season with a Grade 2 hamstring strain. Urlacher strained his hamstring late in overtime of the Bears 23-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. An MRI on Tuesday confirmed the strain.
Urlacher hopes to be ready to return to the field for the playoffs, if not by the Bears regular season finale against the Detroit Lions. In 12 games this season Urlacher has 68 tackles, seven pass deflections, one interception returned for a touchdown and two forced fumbles.
The Bears (8-4) have the second ranked scoring defense at 16.5 points allowed per game and the fifth ranked total defense with 319.7 yards allowed per game. The Bears have lost three of their last four games and fallen into a tie with the Green Bay Packers at the top of the NFC North. They have games remaining against the Minnesota Vikings, Packers, Arizona Cardinals, and Detroit Lions.
