Harvin is done for the season.

The Minnesota Vikings placed wide receiver Percy Harvin on injured reserve on Wednesday, ending the talented receiver's season prematurely.

Harvin injured his ankle during Minnesota's Week 9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks and hasn't appeared in a game since. He reportedly suffered an entire ligament tear in his ankle -- or a Grade 3 sprain.

Now out for the season, Harvin finished the 2012 season with 62 receptions in nine games, for 677 yards and three touchdowns. Harvin, one of Minnesota's most dynamic players, also served as a kick returner. Harvin returned 16 kickoffs for 574 yards -- including an 105-yard touchdown run.

Minnesota also utilized Harvin in the rushing game, giving Harvin 22 carries. Harvin rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown in 2012.

With Harvin now out for the season, the Vikings will likely have to rely heavily on Adrian Peterson down the stretch, as Minnesota looks to make a playoff push in the last four weeks of the season.
