Chad Greenway has some advice for Vikings fans

Bruce Kluckhohn-US PRESSWIRE

Stick to the hard stuff, says the Vikings linebacker.

Percy Harvin is out for the season. Adrian Peterson did not practice on Thursday. The 6-6 Minnesota Vikings need all the assistance available to beat the visiting Chicago Bears this week and keep the team's playoff hopes alive. Linebacker Chad Greenway even called in a solid from the fans.

"We have to play accordingly and our fans have to show up accordingly, which we know they will. Hopefully, they're super- duper drunk. ... So drink liquor, not beer.

"Yeah, I would say morning drinking. Why not? You could pull an all-nighter. Then you'd have the drunk, tired guys who will really be obnoxious."

Everyone knows the liquor not beer thing. Fortunately, football fans in the North Country have a deep, abiding love for flavored schnapps too.

Some other suggestions would include:

  • Giving blood first
  • Skipping breakfast
  • Using a funnel
