Broncos vs. Raiders: Peyton Manning is one pass away from his seventh season with 30 touchdowns

US PRESSWIRE

Another week, another record for the Broncos quarterback.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning needs one more touchdown pass this season to have 30. In all likelihood, that will happen on Thursday night against the Oakland Raiders, barring some surprising development in which the Raiders suddenly find some defensive competency. It will be the seventh season of Manning's career in which he has thrown for at least 30 touchdowns.

Seven seasons of 30 or more touchdown passes is not the NFL record. It is okay to admit your surprise that there is a passing record not held by Peyton Manning. Tom Brady actually has the most seasons with 30 or more passing touchdowns. Manning is currently second on the list with six.

Manning and Aaron Rodgers each head into Week 14 with 29 passing touchdowns, second-most in the league so far. Drew Brees leads the NFL with 31, for now. Brady has 25 so far this season.

In Week 4, Manning threw three touchdown passes to lead the Broncos in a 37-6 win.
