Chicago may have lost their kicker for the day. Some fans might also be curious where their quarterback went.
Last season, the Chicago Bears went from Super Bowl contender to not even being a playoff contender when Jay Cutler was lost for the season and the team had to switch over to Caleb Hanie. Now that the Bears have fallen from 7-1 to 8-4 and are currently losing, 14-0, to the Minnesota Vikings, it almost seems as if Hanie is back under center for Chicago.
Cutler missed only one start due to a concussion, so injury can't be completely blamed for this collapse. Today, the Bears may have lost kicker Robbie Gould with a calf injury, and Cutler has lost any semblance of an ability to play effectively: he is 4 for 11 for 22 yards, no touchdowns and one interception, posting a quarterback rating of 7.0 after a quarter of play.
Many thought it would be curious to see what Chicago would do when they got in field goal range without their kicker, but Cutler looks to be in no danger of making that happen any time soon.
