Andrew Luck has now thrown for more yards this season than Peyton Manning did as a rookie for the Indianapolis Colts. Luck passed Manning despite struggling during Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans. Through three quarters, the rookie is 12 for 26 passing for 156 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Manning passed for a 3,739 yards, 26 touchdowns and 28 interceptions in his first season with the Colts after a Heisman runner-up season with the Tennessee Volunteers. Luck is arguably having a better season, despite his struggles Sunday. Headed into Week 14, Luck was 279 for 503 for 3,596 yards, 17 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.
Luck has a shot at catching Cam Newton and his record-setting rookie numbers. The Carolina Panthers quarterback set an NFL record with 4,051 yards passing last season in his first year out of Auburn. Luck would have to throw nine more touchdowns to surpass Manning's NFL record 26 touchdown passes in his rookie season.
