Cutler is not believed to have a concussion.
At the midway point of the season, the Bears were 7-1 and many were calling them the best defense in the NFL, if not the best overall team. Similar things were being said about Chicago last season before Jay Cutler went out for the year with a concussion and the Bears fell out of the playoff race.
Cutler has left the game today with what is believed to be a neck or shoulder injury and not a concussion, but the Bears are starting to fall out of the playoff race anyway.
Chicago has lost 3 of their last 4 games and have trailed the Minnesota Vikings for most of the game today. A big reason for that is because Cutler is 22-of-44 for 260 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT. Jason Campbell came in for Cutler and is 6-of-9 for 64 yards with a touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall to cut the lead to 21-14, but the onside kick was unsuccessful and Christian Ponder was able to take a knee to end the game.
The Bears fall to 8-5 while they wait to find out the extent of the injury to Cutler. They'll also hope that if he doesn't miss any time, he has better games than this one.
