By virtue of tiebreakers, the Redskins are in pretty good shape in the NFC playoff race after rallying to beat the Ravens on Sunday. However, Washington still needs losses by the Giants and/or Seahawks.
The Washington Redskins used a big second half to beat the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday and stay alive in the NFC playoff picture. The Redskins improved to 7-6 on the season, and hold tiebreakers over the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys, both of whom also won on Sunday.
If the New York Giants lose to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, the Redskins will move into first place in the NFC East. The Redskins own a tiebreaker over the Giants based on their record in division games, and own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Cowboys, who would move into second place in the division after their win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Vikings and St. Louis Rams remain in the thick of things as well. The Vikings beat the Chicago Bears, who are now just a game ahead Minnesota, Dallas and Washington.
The Seattle Seahawks currently hold the final playoff spot, but if they lose to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the Redskins would move into that spot based on a better in-conference record.
