The Cardinals are having a going-out-of-business sale and everything must go.
The Seattle Seahawks came into today with a +40 point differential and a +1 turnover differential on the season. Those numbers are changing dramatically.
Now up 51-0 on the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle has already more than doubled its point differential and added +7 in the takeaway/giveaway category by forcing eight of them -- four interceptions and four fumble recoveries. This is being posted with 2:06 left in the third quarter.
The Seahawks' franchise record for points in a game is 56. The NFL record for turnovers forced in a game is 12, last happening in 1965. It got to the point where an interception or fumble would happen and players would just walk off of the field, maybe do a jump-and-bump, but not really make a big deal of it. It has become more surprising when John Skelton or Ryan Lindley don't turn it over rather than when they do.
Patrick Peterson has two fumbles on special teams, one of which led directly to a touchdown.
Matt Flynn also finally made his Seahawks debut, because as I said earlier, Seattle leads the Cardinals 51-0. The Cards have seven first downs and eight turnovers.
