Drew Brees is throwing a lot of interceptions this year.
Drew Brees is struggling in New York, as the New Orleans Saints quarterback threw his second interception of the day, his 18th of the year. Brees is now tied with rookie Andrew Luck with the most interceptions in the NFL, and New Orleans' once-vaunted offense is looking a lot more fallible.
The issue isn't the talent around him, or the lack of Sean Payton on the sideline. Brees is making unusually risky deep throws, and not hitting the tight windows. Against the Giants today, he missed the lurking safety on two throws, resulting in two Stevie Brown interceptions.
When a rookie QB throws 18 interceptions with a lot of yards it's excusable, when Drew Brees does it -- all of a sudden it's time to take notice.
