Wife Of Tommie Harris Passes Away At Age 29

The wife of veteran defensive tackle Tommie Harris passed away on Sunday night. She was only 29 years old.

Feb 13, 2012 - Veteran defensive tackle Tommie Harris suffered a traumatic loss on Sunday when he learned his wife, Ashley, had passed away. She was only 29 years old. The two were married in January and they had their second child just four months ago.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported the unfortunate news. Doctors believe she had a stroke or a brain aneurysm. She entered an Oklahoma area hospital two days prior.

Some NFL players have tweeted their condolences and several former teammates with the Chicago Bears joined him in Oklahoma in the past few days.

Harris, 28, was originally a 2004 draft pick by the Chicago Bears. He went to three Pro Bowls in Chicago before bouncing around between the Colts and Chargers last season.

It's hard to even think about this situation and I can't even imagine how difficult this is for the family. Our condolences go out to Tommie Harris, the couple's two children and the rest of their family and friends.
