Feb 2, 2012 - Oakland Raiders new head coach Dennis Allen continues to compile his coaching staff. On offense, he's reportedly hired Greg Knapp to be his coordinator and on defense he's already interviewed Greg Manusky for the coordinator job. The Raiders were also denied permission to speak with the Denver Broncos linebackers coach regarding the job.
The latest name to add to the mix is Joe Whitt, Green Bay Packers cornerbacks coach. Steve Wyche of NFL.com reports the Raiders have requested permission from the Packers to interview Whitt.
Whitt and new GM Reggie McKenzie are familiar with each other from their days in Green Bay. Whitt has been with the Packers since 2008.
Chuck Bresnahan ran the Raiders 29th ranked defense in 2011. They're a talented group so the potential is there to be a good unit but they were stung with penalty problems last season.
