Jaguars DT Nate Collins was arrested and charged with marijuana possession.
Jacksonville Jaguars defensive lineman Nate Collins was arrested last Thursday in Warrenton, Va., according to a report in the Faquier Times-Democrat. Collins was reportedly pulled over for having his windows illegally tinted.
The trooper noticed the scent of marijuana coming from the car and found a duffle bag with marijuana joints in the trunk.
Collins's hearing is set for April 19 and he will be charged with the illegal window tint as well as marijuana possession. The Jaguars released this statement: "We are aware of the incident involving Nate Collins and continue to gather information. We will have no further comment at this time."
The arrest apparently marks the Jaguars' first of the Gene Smith era. Matt Jones was the last Jaguars player to be arrested back on March 9, 2009.
Collins is coming off a season in which he made 12 appearances, but zero starts. He registered 10 tackles, had half a sack and knocked down one pass.
