Brian Daboll Likely To Be Named Chiefs' Offensive Coordinator, According To Reports

The Chiefs are close to making Brian Daboll their new offensive coordinator, reports the Kansas City Star. Daboll served in the same role with the Miami Dolphins last year and with the Cleveland Browns in 2009-2010. He could be introduced as soon as Monday.

The Dolphins' offensive finished 20th in points and 22nd in yards last year, showing improvement as the year wore on. Not all of their problems were the result of faulty schemes, either, as the Dolphins ranked third in the NFL with 28 fumbles. The 2011 Chiefs, on the other hand, were tied for 21st in the NFL with just 17 fumbles.

Other candidates who interviewed for Kansas City's coordinator job included the team's quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn and former Raiders coordinator Al Saunders. Bill Muir, the Chiefs' offensive coordinator last year, retired earlier this month after one year on the job.
