Puppy Bowl VIII kicks off on Animal Planet at 3 p.m. ET. Here's everything you need to know about the second-biggest game of the day.
Feb 5, 2012 - Though Super Bowl XLVI kicks off close to 6:30 p.m., three and a half hours earlier, some could argue the real big game kicks off — the Puppy Bowl! The eighth installment of Fluffiest Game on Earth will kick off at 3 p.m. on Animal Planet, and, if you're wondering who the cutest performers are, SB Nation's Matt Ufford has you covered.
This year, the game with feature what appears to be a cockateel as the "live tweeter" and a group of piglets as squealing cheerleaders. As usual, there will be the kitten halftime show for the cat people in the audience. There's even a new referee this year to noticeably annoy everyone, but keep those crazy pups in line.
