Less than 24 hours after Denver Broncos VP John Elway indicated a Tim Tebow trade was possible, the Broncos pulled the trigger and sent Tebow to the New York Jets. The Broncos will receive fourth and sixth round picks in exchange for Tebow and their seventh round pick.
I've detailed the reasons why I don't think this move makes sense for the Jets but SB Nation New York makes the case for Tebow, and makes a good point here with how they can use him. The Wildcat package returned to popularity in the NFL back in 2008 with the Miami Dolphins when then-head coach Tony Sparano used it with Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. Sparano, of course, is now the offensive coordinator of the Jets.
As noted in the article, he could also help in short yardage situations. He's not a traditional quarterback but Tebow may have some value for the Jets in the 2012 season.
