The Cincinnati Bengals have beefed up their defense by signing a two-time Pro Bowler. Cornerback Terence Newman will be wearing tiger stripes in 2012.

The Cincinnati Bengals are working on filling some holes in their roster in preparation for the 2012 NFL season. On Wednesday, they acquired a new member of their defense via free agency.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, former Dallas Cowboys cornerback and two-time Pro Bowl selection Terence Newman has agreed to terms on a contract that will bring him to the Bengals for the 2012 season. No further details of the contract are available at this time.

Newman had been with the Cowboys ever since being selected as a first-round draft pick out of Kansas State in 2003. In his nine NFL seasons, Newman has 489 tackles, two sacks and three touchdowns off of 32 interceptions.
