The Denver Broncos are visiting with a former teammate of new quarterback Peyton Manning, according to a report by Mike Klis of the Denver Post. Wide receiver Brandon Stokley, who played for the Broncos for three seasons from 2007 to 2009 and has a long history with the Broncos new quarterback, will meet with Denver officials on Monday.
Brandon Stokley, whose Immaculate Deflection reception was one of the most famous catches in Broncos history, is meeting with his former team today.
Stokley turns 36 in June and has bounced around the league the past few seasons while dealing with injuries, but he is familiar with Manning and what he likes to do offensively. Stokley had his only 1,000 yard receiving season with the Indianapolis Colts, with Manning throwing him the football. The Broncos have a solid core of wide receivers, but potentially adding a veteran like Stokley that Manning is familiar with certainly can't hurt.
