The Washington Redskins will open the 2012 NFL season with a road contest against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints will be without head coach Sean Payton, suspended for a year, and interim head coach Joe Vitt, gone for six games. Aaron Kromer, along with Drew Brees, will lead the way against Mike Shanahan's Redskins, who went 5-11 in 2011.
The Redskins don't open NFC East play until Oct. 21, when they visit the New York Giants. But that will be the only divisional game until after the team's Week 10 bye. Five of the teams' last seven games come against NFC East foes.
