The 2012 schedule for the Chicago Bears was released on Tuesday along with the rest of the NFL's slate of games for next season. Fans of the Bears are optimistic that this season's slate of games will lead them to a playoff berth, but that could all change based on the results of the first two weeks.
The Bears will open the season with the new-look Indianapolis Colts, likely featuring rookie quarterback Andrew Luck in his first NFL game, before going on the road to play the division rival Green Bay Packers in Week 2. To make matters worse, the Packers game is scheduled in a Thursday night primetime slot just five days after the season opener.
If the Bears are able to exit their opening two-week stretch unscathed, there's a good chance the optimism emanating from Chicago makes sense. If it gets ugly early, however, Bears fans might be in for a long ride.
The team's full schedule is included below.
Week 1: vs. Indianapolis Colts
Week 2: at Green Bay Packers
Week 3: vs. St. Louis Rams
Week 4: at Dallas Cowboys
Week 5: at Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 6: Bye
Week 7: vs. Detroit Lions
Week 8: vs. Carolina Panthers
