Jahvid Best been spotted at the Allen Park for involuntary workouts with the Detroit Lions. Whether he has actually participated in workouts is still in unclear, however. Best was placed on injured reserve in late November last season due to his slow recovery from a Week 6 concussion. Lions general manager Martin Mayhew was vague when asked about Best's exact status.
"I saw (Best) in the meeting room, but I haven't seen him working out," Mayhew said. "From what I understand, he's been doing everything, as far as conditioning and working out with everybody."
The Lions have remained tight-lipped every time they've been asked about Best's status. There still isn't anything resembling a timetable for the former first-round selection in the 2010 NFL Draft. Considering his long history of concussions stretching back to his playing days at Cal, it is hard to imagine he will be able to carry a full load of carries any time soon.
Best had 390 yards rushing and 287 yards receiving with three total touchdowns in six games played last season.
