VIDEO: The NFL Draft, Then And Now

Stay connected with SB Nation

Every now and again we hear from some old-timers that the NFL Draft has changed so much from the way it used to go down. The whole thing is televised with months of pre-draft coverage and there's significantly more media covering the event.

We've got some video proof to show you just how much it's changed. If you like grainy YouTube videos from the 1980s, please make the jump.

The best part comes from an on-air report: "Everything is going along smoothly except for Commissioner Rozelle. He was stuck in an elevator about an hour ago and then his PA system didn't work. It took the Saints, and then the Giants, only a matter of seconds to make their choices."
