NFL Preseason Schedule Reportedly To Be Announced On Wednesday

The NFL preseason schedule will be announced on Wednesday, April 4.

The torrid pace of the NFL offseason continues on Wednesday when the league is expected to announce the 2012 NFL preseason schedule. The news was first revealed on Tuesday by Tim Twentyman of the Detroit Lions communications department.

Like every year, teams will play four preseason games, two on the road and two at home. The New Orleans Saints and the Arizona Cardinals get an extra preseason game on their schedules as they are scheduled to open the preseason in the annual Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 5 in Canton, OH. Last year's Hall of Fame Game was cancelled because of the NFL lockout.

As for the regular season schedule, the NFL typically announces that later in April, ahead of the NFL Draft. Teams and fans already know who their home and away opponents will be next season. The regular season schedule starts on Wednesday, Sep. 5, with a game between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys.
