The Detroit Lions got some good news with OTAs starting up. Several key injured players showed up to participate in Monday's activities. Running backs Jahvid Best and Mikel Leshoure participated after spending last season on injured reserve, while rookie wide receiver Ryan Broyles also made an appearance. It is still unclear whether or not they were limited.
Best played in just six games before a concussion derailed his season. He at least saw the field unlike Leshoure, who tore his ACL before his rookie season even started. Broyles tore his ACL playing for the Oklahoma Sooners last season, and is still in the recovery process.
All three players should play an important role during the 2012 season. The Lions still hope that Leshoure can become the thunder to Best's lightning in the running game. Broyles, meanwhile, is expected to compete to become the team's primary slot receiver.
