Charlie Sheen Did Not Buy Lawrence Taylor's Super Bowl Ring After All

Lawrence Taylor gave the Super Bowl ring he won with the Giants to his son, who then placed it on eBay, which drew a lot of attention this week. The ring was sold for a reported $230,000 but that's not the real story here.

The real story is that actor Charlie Sheen was the buyer, according to what LT's agent has been told. Via Jay Glazer:

Got no idea if this is true but if is it's hilarious. Lawrence Taylor & his agent Mark Lepselter were told last night winning bidder for LT's Super Bowl Ring was none other than Charlie Sheen!!!

UPDATE: Some things just have a way of being too good to be true. Turns out the fallen movie star did not buy the fallen football star's Super Bowl ring. Sheen denied the rumors with a Friday morning tweet:
