Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson will be suspended three games to start the 2012 NFL season after being indicted for trafficking marijuana in January. Simpson faced up to 60 days in jail for the charges, but was able to get his sentence reduced to 15 days and three years probation with a plea bargain in March.
League announces 3 game suspension for Vikings WR Jerome Simpson

The Vikings signed Simpson in late April despite knowledge of his indiscretions. He should provide the team with some much-needed depth and talent in the receiving corps, even if he won't see the field until at least Week 4. Simpson caught 50 passes for 725 yards and four touchdowns last season as the Cincinnati Bengals' No. 2 wide receiver behind rookie A.J. Green.
