Is the NFL ready for a gay player? Texans star linebacker Connor Barwin says it is in a discussion with Amy K. Nelson about why he fully supports the LGBT community.

When Barack Obama endorsed same sex marriage on May 9th, so did Connor Barwin, linebacker and 2011 leader in sacks for the Houston Texans.

He tweeted his support for Obama's stance and saw an overwhelmingly positive response from teammates, strangers and friends. Now, Barwin is speaking out again publicly to outsports.com to talk about his family, his older gay brother, and why he thinks that locker rooms across the NFL would welcome an openly gay athlete.
