Authorities in California's Santa Clara County told NFL.com on Monday that they still did not have any suspects in the stabbing of San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith at a house party on early Saturday morning.
Deputies who responded to the incident also reported two gunshot victims. Sergeant Jose Cardoza said in the NFL.com report that the chaos around the incidents at the party complicated the search for suspects.
"There was a lot of confusion. People heard gunshots, people heard commotion, but nobody saw where it came from. Nobody saw anyone stab anyone," Cardoza said. "We don't know if it was one person responsible or more than one person responsible for the three victim injuries."
The 49ers reported that Smith received only minor injuries in a brief statement following the incident. Smith made only one comment in the wake of the stabbing, thanking those who had wished him well via Twitter.
Thanks everyone for you support and concerns.

San Francisco 49ers second-year sack master Aldon Smith was stabbed at a Santa Clara house party Saturday morning, but the team expects him to recover just fine. However, any Niners fans wondering just what he was doing at such a party won't like this note about what else went down:
Aldon Smith was at house party in which deputies located 2 gunshot victims and 1 stabbing victim -- all non-life threatening injuries.

Smith's gotten into unusual off-field circumstances before. As a rookie, Smith was arrested in Miami for swerving while driving under the influence.
As a first-round pick out of Mizzou, Smith piled up 14 sacks and two forced fumbles in his rookie season, earning a handful of Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
