Chad Ochocinco arrived at the Patriots complex on Thursday but left before the start of OTAs lending to speculation that his status with the team has changed.
The New England Patriots brought back wide receiver Chad Ochocinco this offseason on a restructured contract, from $3 million due in 2012 to just $1 million. But now there's a question as to Ochocinco's status with the Pats.
The Boston Globe reported on Thursday that Ochocinco was at the Patriots' complex early on Thursday, but left before practice began. And WEEI in Boston notes that Ochocinco has removed the reference to playing for the Patriots in his Twitter bio.
Update: The reference to the Patriots is back on his Twitter account and a report says he's still a Patriot.
Ochocinco has attended all the OTAs available to the media this offseason. He tweeted on Wednesday night about preparing for a "great day of field work" in the morning.
The Boston Globe reports that Ochocinco still has it physically, but he's struggled to grasp the playbook.
We'll await any word on a change in Ochocinco's status with the team, but it appears that something is going on. We just don't know what.
