Fresh off back-to-back playoff appearances, the Atlanta Falcons open training camp Wednesday on the quest for a third-consecutive postseason berth. The Falcons lost in the wild-card round of the postseason last year and are 0-3 in the playoffs under head coach Mike Smith.
Quarterback Matt Ryan begins his sixth NFL season and has all of his weapons from last year back again. Michael Turner returns as the lead running back, while Roddy White and Julio Jones form one of the NFL's top wide receiver duos. Jones caught 54 passes for 959 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie in 2011. Jones battled injuries, but closed the season strong, catching 24 passes for 461 yards and six touchdowns over the final five regular season games.
The Falcons didn't have a first-round pick in the NFL Draft, but added some offensive-line depth by drafting center Peter Konz in the second round. The Falcons also added Asante Samuel in a trade with Philadelphia.
The Falcons' practice schedule, including a listing of which practices are open to the public, can be found on the team's official website.
