Last season ended in disappointment for the New England Patriots, who fell in the Super Bowl to a 9-7 team that finished the regular season with a negative point differential. They were favorites to beat the New York Giants, just like the last time the two teams met in the Super Bowl, and they lost to Tom Coughlin's Giants again.
The Patriots have made minimal changes this offseason and are expected to be one of the best teams in the NFL in 2012. On offense, wide receiver Brandon Lloyd should improve what was already one of the best passing attacks in the league. They lost a couple of pass rushers but picked up rookies Dont'a Hightower and Chandler Jones in the draft, both of whom should contribute to the team immediately. The Patriots open up their training camp July 25.
