There are reports that Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew will not be attending training camp in hopes of obtaining a new contract. Although the owner of the Jaguars has gone on the record as saying that there are no plans to revisit Jones' contract situation, it appears Jones-Drew is still prepared to hold out for as long as necessary.
Steve Wyche at NFL.com reports that Jones-Drew -- who did not report to camp on Thursday -- plans to sit out all of training camp, if not longer, in order to garner a new contract. Jones faces a $30,000 fine for each day of training camp that he misses.
Jones-Drew led the NFL last season with 1,606 rushing yards and believes he has earned a top-tier contract.
