Favre Watch 2012: Wouldn't It Be Something?

Last season, legendary Hall of Fame legend Brett Favre famously decided to take a year off from the NFL. We missed him so, and some are understandably worried that he will take the 2012 season off as well. Thankfully, a ray of sunshine broke through the clouds Tuesday morning. CBS Sports' Will Brinson took the following screencap:

It's important for us to keep cool heads about all this, but it does raise a few talking points:

  • Heh.
  • Heh, you know what? It just hasn't been the same without the ol' Gunslinger.
  • Have we really seen the last of Brett Favre in the NFL?
  • Do you think that he might lace 'em up and give it one more go? I sure hope he laces 'em up and gives it one more go.
  • Man. What a story that would be.
  • Brett Favre, taking us for one more ride. Scramblin' around, takin' it out, choppin' it up, winning any which way he knows how.
  • Wouldn't that make for a great story? It just hasn't been the same without him.
  • The possibility of a Favre return has defensive coordinators shaking in their boots ... er, football boots!
  • You thought you'd run the old man outta town, huh? Well, I bet he still has what it takes to go out there and show these kids a trick or two.
  • You know, it's just like Internet subscriber @jstranzl said yesterday: "If the NFL is the No Favre League, then it's the No Fun League."
  • Waiter! Excuse me! I ordered my NFL casserole with a heapin' helpin' of Favre! Please go back to the football kitchen and return with a TRULY delicious dish! (a metaphor about football and food)
  • Favre returns for one last ride before trotting off into the sunset. That's the sort of feel-good story the NFL needs.
  • Favre's just a winner, through and through.
  • Do you think that Brett Favre is a winner through and through?
  • There are a lot of naysayers out there, but they're only jealous/had bad parents.
  • Sure would be something.
  • Sure would be something to see the living legend take the gridiron one last time, settin' em up and knockin' em down, slicin' and dicin' and carvin' 'em up, scramblin' in the pocket, slingin' that ball like a deadly weapon, findin' his man, showing TRUE leadership and poise.
  • Look out, Aaron Rodgers. There might just be a NEW sheriff in town.
  • Heh. Good ol' Gunslinger. You might knock him down, but you'll never keep him down.
  • Heh. Gee whiz.
  • C'mon, Brett! Show all these rookies how it's done.
  • Boy oh boy.
  • Heh.
