NFL Supplemental Draft: Josh Gordon Could Be Picked High

Stay connected with SB Nation

Next weeks NFL Supplemental Draft will feature eight intriguing prospects. The name drawing the most attention is Baylor Bears wide receiver Josh Gordon, who figures to be picked high during the draft.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Gordon could be selected as early as the second round. At 6'3 and 225 pounds, Gordon has good size for a receiver and his tendency to run the 40 in around 4.4 seconds is something that coaches and evaluators have definitely noticed.

Dan Kadar at Mocking the Draft has this to say about Gordon:

[Y]ou have to wonder about how and why he bounced from Baylor to Utah to the Supplemental Draft. And although the number of prospects in the Supplemental Draft is always light on drafted players, very few offensive skill position players have been picked. Even fewer had an impact in the NFL.

We will have to stay tuned to see where Gordon ends up going. Kadar believes the Washington Redskins may be the team that takes a chance on him.
