Tim Tebow will make his New York debut Friday as the Jets open the preseason against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Cincinnati Bengals made the playoffs in 2011, but they likely won't garner much of the attention in their 2012 preseason opener. That is because they are playing the New York Jets and the focus will be on a guy named Tim Tebow.
Tebow will make his Jets debut after an offseason trade with the Denver Broncos. After starting 11 games for the Broncos last season, Tebow will be in a new role with the Jets as a wildcat runner and Mark Sanchez backup. While the first preseason game is of very little significance, there may be some added pressure on Sanchez to get his 2012 season off to a strong start to avoid early chants for Tebow.
There is no quarterback controversy in Cincinnati, as Andy Dalton begins his second NFL season firmly entrenched as the Bengals' starting quarterback. Dalton will once again pair with leading receiver A.J. Green, but Cincinnati will begin breaking in a new running back with BenJarvus Green-Ellis replacing Cedric Benson.
Game Date/Time: Friday, Aug. 10; 7:30 p.m. ET
Location: Paul Brown Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio
TV Schedule: NFL Network
Radio Schedule: Sirius XM channel 94
