The Giants will begin their Super Bowl defense with their preseason opener against Jacksonville on Friday.
The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants will make their 2012 preseason debut Friday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
While the Giants return the core of their Super Bowl winning roster, including quarterback Eli Manning, a few players will make their New York debuts. Maybe the most notable is rookie running back David Wilson. The Giants selected Wilson with the No. 32 pick of the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. With Brandon Jacobs now in San Francisco, Wilson could be counted on to play a major role this season.
The Jaguars preseason will begin with a quarterback battle. Blaine Gabbert started 14 games during his rookie season in 2011 but he is now battling for the starting quarterback job with Chad Henne who signed with Jacksonville after four seasons in Miami.
Game Date/Time: Friday, Aug. 10; 7:30 p.m. ET
Location: EverBank Field, Jacksonville, Fla.
TV Schedule: WWOR 9 (New York), WTEV 47 (Jacksonville)
