Jeff Demps To Decide NFL Future By Thursday Night

Stay connected with SB Nation

Olympic silver medalist and former Florida running back Jeff Demps' abrupt departure from the world of professional track for the green pasture-like fields of the NFL came as a surprise of sorts this week, but it's no shock that Demps is apparently trying to get into camp with some of his signature speed. Demps' agent tells The Associated Press that Demps will make a decision on his NFL future by Thursday night.

Daniel Rose told the AP's Greg Siciliano that "several teams" are interested in the speedy Demps, who won his medal with the U.S.'s 4 x 100 meters relay team less than a week ago. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, local to both Demps' hometown and Florida's campus in Gainesville, and the New York Jets, who could reunite Demps with his former backfield mate Tim Tebow, have both been public suitors of the speedy back.
