On Wednesday, the Houston Texans came to terms with offensive tackle Duane Brown on a new six-year contract. The immediate reaction from Texans fans was very favorable.
Battle Red Blog was on top of the news, and the early response from fans is that they liked the move. After the details of the contract were revealed, they loved it.
... [T]ying up Brown long term is a fantastic move by the Texans' front office. Brown, who was a surprise pick in 2008 after the Texans traded down, has gone from the worst left tackle in the league to one of the best. Brown is just 27 years old and is entering his prime years.
Update: Deal is 6 years, $53.4MM, with $22.08MM guaranteed. An absolutely fantastic deal for both the team and Duane. Nicely done.
As expected, fans are solidly behind this move and are looking forward to Brown holding down the offensive line for six more years.
