Jermaine Gresham's Injury Isn't Serious

Stay connected with SB Nation

Jermaine Gresham and Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis are saying the tight end is fine and what appears to have been a knee injury suffered against the Falcons in Thursday night's preseason game wasn't all that serious.

It's unclear what the team is going to do with Gresham moving forward, but precautionary measures could be taken. Maybe he sits out a few practices or reps, but Gresham believes he can play next week.

The third-year tight end caught a nice 25-yard pass from second-year quarterback Andy Dalton as he suffered the injury while being tackled at the legs. Gresham was able to walk off the field on his own power.

In addition to wide receiver A.J. Green, who Dalton connected for a 50-yard touchdown pass with on Thursday, Gresham is sure to be one Dalton's favorite targets and one of the team's most dangerous offensive threats in 2012
