Jaguars Owner Not Worried About Maurice Jones-Drew Holdout

As Jacksonville Jaguars star running back Maurice Jones-Drew continues his holdout, one person who is not worried is Jags owner Shahid Khan.

Jones-Drew is set to make $9.5 million over each of the next two seasons after signing an extension in 2009. But one wonders how long MJD can sustain such a holdout, forfeiting $30,000 a day in fines for missing training camp. He has already racked up over $600,000 in fines.

Perhaps this is why first-year owner Shahid Khan, who is no stranger to labor disputes, doesn't seem too concerned, according to Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports:

"He’s not here, and that’s his decision ... Believe me, it’s not a great concern. You hope for the best, and you plan for the worst. Our goals for the season don’t change, and if he isn’t here, he isn’t here. I don’t control it. It’s his choice."

Jones-Drew was the NFL's leading rusher last year with 1606 yards.
